Flexible Impeller Pumps
Reversible, self-priming flexible impeller pumps
The RF pump is a flexible impeller pump. These pumps are reversible and self-priming and can suction from a maximum height of 5 meters (15 feet). This type of pump is designed to pump products of both low and high viscosity, as well as materials containing particles or gases.

The most common applications are transfer of wort (including mash in wort), dairy products, edible oils, wine, wine must, concentrates, and beverages in general. They can also be used with viscous food products such as jam, marmalade, and custard, as well as cosmetic products such as soap, gel, toothpaste, and creams.
Operating principle
Due to the eccentric shape of the pump housing, a vacuum is created on the suction side as the volume between the blades increases and causes the product suction and lift.
As the rotor spins and the product is carried from the suction side to the discharge side the blades bend, reducing the volume between them and causing the discharge of the product. It is very efficient and gentle on the product.
